About Windsor Asbestos Testing

Reviewed August 2026 · Windsor & Essex County

Windsor Asbestos Testing exists to answer one question well: is there asbestos in this material, yes or no? We sample homes and buildings across Windsor and Essex County, send everything to a CALA-accredited laboratory under chain of custody, and deliver reports in plain language that contractors, buyers, and regulators accept.

Testing only, on purpose

We don't sell asbestos removal. That's a deliberate choice, not a gap in the menu. When the company holding the sampling tools also sells the $10,000 cleanup, every "positive" result has a conflict of interest baked into it. Our only product is the answer. If your floor tiles come back clean, that's a good day for you and a fine day for us. If they come back positive, the report explains what Ontario's rules actually require, which is often less than a removal company's pitch.

Built for how Windsor was built

This city's housing tells its age honestly: brick two-storeys in Walkerville and Ford City from the auto boom, wartime homes and postwar bungalows through South Windsor, Riverside, and Remington Park, then the wider streets of the 60s and 70s subdivisions. Nearly all of it predates the asbestos phase-out, which means plaster, joint compound, 9x9 floor tiles, pipe wrap, transite siding, textured ceilings, and vermiculite attics are everyday finds here, not rarities.

Knowing the local stock matters in this work. It tells us where to look, which materials in which eras are worth sampling, and just as importantly, which aren't, so you're not paying for samples that don't need taking.

How we work

  • Straight quotes. You'll know the price before we book, and the price is for answers, not for finding problems.
  • Careful sampling. Wet methods, sealed containers, labelled locations, small patched marks. Sampling should never create the hazard it's checking for.
  • Accredited analysis. Every sample is analyzed at a CALA-accredited laboratory and every report includes the lab certificates.
  • Reports that work downstream. Whether it's going to your renovator, an abatement crew, a buyer's agent, or a Ministry of Labour file, the document is written to be used, not decoded.
